Use at Your Own Risk
CarFree provides route suggestions, place information, and certain business or event details for convenience only. Data may be delayed, incomplete, inaccurate, or change without notice.
Always Verify Before You Travel
- Confirm route status, stop locations, and service alerts before departure.
- Verify business hours, event timing, venue details, and accessibility information directly when it matters.
- Follow official transit agency guidance and posted signage.
- Use caution in traffic, crossings, and unfamiliar areas.
Stay Aware While Moving
Do not interact with the app in ways that compromise your safety, including while driving, biking, boarding, or crossing streets. Pause in a safe place before checking directions, trip guidance, or nearby destinations.
Trip Guidance Availability
On supported app builds, you can choose to continue guidance for a trip you start while your phone is locked or you use another app. Enable this in the top-right gear under Guidance settings. Optional spoken transit alerts and trip notifications have separate controls. On older builds without these controls, keep CarFree open during guidance.
Background updates and alerts can be delayed or interrupted by location availability, connectivity, battery restrictions, audio interruptions, or device settings. Do not rely on an alert as your only cue to board, transfer, or exit. Restart after force-quitting the app is not guaranteed. Open CarFree to check current guidance when an alert is missing, and follow posted signs and agency instructions.
Use Your Judgment
CarFree does not know current sidewalk conditions, crowding, weather hazards, construction, personal safety conditions, or sudden service disruptions in every area. Choose the option that feels safe for you in the moment, even if it differs from the app recommendation.
Emergency Situations
CarFree is not an emergency service. In emergencies, call local emergency services immediately.
